Darin and his wife have been married for 20 plus years and are in the midst of raising their three children.  He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family, keeping up with the activities of his children and being involved in his church.  Additionally, Darin enjoys helping to care for the several animals that inhabit his small farm.

 

Clients appreciate Darin's "warm and friendly personality" as well as his efforts to make them feel valued throughout the counseling process.  One of the reasons Darin chose counseling as a career was his genuine "love of people" as well as the great satisfaction he feels from walking with them through some of life's difficulties.

"Where do you turn when you don't know where to turn?"

Darin received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Illinois.  He has been assisting individuals, couples and families for more than 20 years and uses a strength-based approach to his counseling.  Darin takes great satisfaction in helping his clients increase their self-awareness in order to improve their ability to regulate their thoughts and behaviors .  Areas of skill building include but are not limited to: avoiding thinking errors, increasing personal responsibility, increasing emotional intelligence,  assertiveness training, integrating faith into decision making, stress management, enhancing parenting skills and improving self-esteem.
